Christmas...... Rockett St George Style.

So we’re into November and in my world it is now perfectly acceptable to start talking about Christmas….. I absolutely love this time of year and unsurprisingly one of my favourite parts of the festive season is decorating the house. This year thanks to the fabulous people at Rockett St George I will be adding some of their wonderful Christmas decorations to my home.
Rockett St George say on their Christmas page…. ‘Christmas is the most glittery and magical time of the year and there is nothing we love more than adorning our homes in one-of-a-kind tree decorations, baubles, fairy lights and quirky decorative accessories that make us smile! This year we have a selection of witty, rock ‘n’ roll and utterly unique Christmas decorations that will help you curate your most stylish and stand-out festive interior.’ …. They certainly know how to select their christmas decorations thats for sure….. I’ve chosen some beauties and can’t wait to show you them in my home.
The decs do tend to come out early at Hornsby House and this year due to Jim’s horrendous work roster over the Christmas period we are having our annual Christmas party at the end of November so will be putting up the decorations in the Kitchen before December even starts….. we’ve never done that before- Do I mind? Absolutely not!
I tend to keep this area to a black and gold colour scheme which works well with the rustic feel of my kitchen. The fireplace in the kitchen becomes a real feature at Christmas and this year I’ve added a small bar area next to it too…… I absolutely love the honeycomb ball decorations and I’ve chosen the champagne and black colour ways this year though there is also a beautiful burgundy colourway on the site. I have used these types of decorations for a few years now and I like to have them around and inside the fireplace with fairy lights for Christmas but they also look fabulous when hung from the ceiling and I hang them in clusters in the corner of the kitchen for New Year.
Growing up I remember my Mum always hung huge swathes of tinsel in all colours around every picture on the walls at home (It was an 80’s thing) I also like to add decorations to the prints on the walls which I guess comes from my childhood Christmases, but these gold glitter star decorations hanging from the print here are much more my thing…. I wonder if lashings of tinsel will ever make a Christmas come back?
When I was looking through the Christmas pages on the Rockett St George site I got very excited when I spotted gold disco balls- Yes gold ones! The large silver disco ball was swiftly moved to another room and the gold one given pride of place by the fireplace…. I absolutely love it! This will certainly not just be here for Christmas!
Now, I may have teenagers in the house but they’re never too old for stockings right? I love the tradition of hanging stockings on the fireplace- these gorgeous sequin stockings are just perfect for the kitchen fireplace adding just the right amount of glitz and glamour!
I always think Christmas just isn’t Christmas without lots of glitter….. Noooo I hear parents of young children screaming! True, the days of making messy glitter decorations with the kids where more ends up on the floor, in the glue and in their hair than on the decorations, may be over for me, though their glittery primary school offerings still adorn our main Christmas tree, but it’s easy to add a bit of classy gold glitter to your mantle thanks to these glittery Christmas Trees- And they’re available in silver too……
It’s nice to add a couple of decorations to side tables and if like me you make up a little bar area for guests over the festive season, a few well placed decorations add the festive finishing touch….. Of course when I saw it I just had to add the gold glitter prosecco decoration to the bar area. I do think that hanging decorations shouldn’t just be kept for the tree, they also look fab popped in amongst other decorations on mantles and tables, and round baubles look great popped in gin glasses to add that festive touch like I’ve done here with these black and gold merry christmas baubles.
Now I do tend to stick to my gold, black and neutrals colour palette in the kitchen, keeping all the colour for the main tree in the sitting room. However, having seen all the fabulously quirky and colourful Rockett St George decorations this year I thought I’d also show you the fireplace area with a bit of colourful sass thrown in…… Again I’ve used colourful hanging decorations popped on the mantle and if you don’t have space for a tree in the kitchen a hanging ivy and eucalyptus in a vase add that lovely Christmas greenery.
To add a touch of Christmas to a side table add baubles and small decorations next to candles and a few table sequins to make a beautiful festive feature in the corner of the room. For an eclectic look add something unique next to the more traditional. I think the gold foil ‘peace on earth hand decoration’ works so well next to the beautiful jewelled bauble and candles here……
Now, when it comes to the Christmas tree we have a real one in the sitting room with decorations we have collected since the kids were born and its tradition that every year we take a trip to Harrods and they each get to choose a new decoration for the tree, it makes it all very special…. Even though the OCD part of me used to despair when they were young at some of the garish decorations they chose I obviously love them now for the memories.
We also put up a fake snowy tree in the open plan area and this one is all mine, I get to choose the decorations and decorate it…. Ho Ho Ho! This year I’ll be adding some absolute gems from the Rockett St George Christmas decorations collection……
For the tree I’ve chosen some of the fabulous quirky and rock ‘n’ roll decorations RSG have on offer alongside some beautiful jewelled decorations…… I absolutely love them they are super sassy and not only that I will now have one of my favourite rock stars on my tree this year!
So there we have it a fabulous Rockett St George Christmas! Be sure to check out all of them on offer online at Rockettstgeorge.co.uk and do let me know which one is your favourite!
Thanks as always for reading,
Sharon x
*Some of the decorations used in the post were gifted as part of this sponsored post by Rockett St George. I would never promote a brand that I didn't love, have in my home and use myself.
